Prayer Requests

We are really feeling challenged here with the community because we do not speak German.....we thought that we would be taking German classes immediately BUT as it turns out not enough students signed up so we must now wait till the spring.  This is hard for a lot of different reasons including the fact that: both of the people we work under are German, all of the people in the town of Busingen speak Swiss-German, and to reach the people we come in contact with we must know there language.  We have picked up the basics to get around the town and go to the grocery store but we have hit a wall.   I guess the real prayer request we have, having said all that is: Lord use us through our weakness of not knowing the language, but also Lord give us the knowledge to begin to study German on our own.  Send the right people our way to help us, and stretch us in our own knowledge and understanding.  We really appreciate the prayer support thus far.  We have felt Gods hand on every situation we have been in, and are having a fairly easy time adapting to our surroundings.  Don't get me wrong though, we have been stretched daily, and feel very frustrated and vulnerable at times, but it seems that God has really been able to work through our weakness so far.   We will keep the updates coming to you and feel encouraged by all the posts.  Also let us know if there is a prayer request we can be praying for.

1 - Quincy and Ashley,
What beautiful pictures from the Staff/Faculty retreat. After a long hike, I bet you were a bit tired.

I am praying for someone to come along and help you learn German. I'm sure that has to be terribly frustrating to not understand nor to be understood in communication. You are both very smart and I'm sure you will begin to pick up words and phrases very quickly.

Everytime I look at a clock, my brain automatically thinks ahead 7 hours to what you might be doing. It's 1:45 here, so I'm sure you're beginning to wind down your day.

Remember God is your strength and guide.
I love you,

2 - Quincy & Ashley ---

We are praying lots for you guys and that you will being sprechen Deutsche very soon. Ich liebe Obst und Gemuse. Ok that's all the German I know, but you know, you have to start somewhere. I'm praying that you will be filled up with energy and passion to tackle German on your own and that you'll be German-language sponges!

We are still gathering our funds to get over there and things seem to be going slow. Please pray that God would put this together in His timing. We trust you're doing great and enjoying each other in such a beautiful place. Talk to you soon.

Gruss Got,
